August 18, 2020
Dear Shiloh Hills Families,
I want to officially welcome all of you to the 2020-21 school year! We are in our last few weeks of summer and our staff are working hard to prepare for our Eagles’ first day back on September 14th. Whether your family chooses the remote learning option or the in-person option for your child(ren), we are ready for a great year of learning together!
Many of the teachers and staff at Shiloh Hills are faces that you will remember from years past. There are also a few new members to our school, and I am one of those who is fortunate enough to join the Shiloh family. I am your new principal, and I am so excited to be a part of such a wonderful community. I have been an educator for over 20 years, as a classroom teacher (3rd, 4th, and 5th grades), a Title 1 specialist (K-5 reading and math), and a curriculum and instruction specialist. For the last 2 years, I have been an assistant principal here in Mead. I look forward to meeting each of you and forming strong partnerships to support your child(ren)’s learning. Please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time throughout the school year. There is nothing more important than strong connections between home and school, as we all work together to help our students be successful.
This year as we find ourselves in the midst of a global pandemic, school will look different than it has in the past. You can find information about our education and safety plans on the Mead website by clicking on the 2020-2021 Reopening Plan. One thing that has not changed, though, is how much we love your kids! We continue to be committed to providing the very best learning environment and to inspire our students to achieve great things.
Our front office will be open for new student registration and other services on August 24 from 8:00-4:00. In addition, please complete the Learning Option Selection Survey to select either the in-person option or the remote learning option for your child(ren). You can plan to hear from us in the next few weeks regarding back to school information and who your child’s teacher will be. Until then, if we can help in any way please stop in or give us a call at 509.465.6800.
We can’t wait to see your smiling faces on September 14! It’s going to be a great year!
