Eagle Updates, October 1 - 5

Good evening, Shiloh Families!

This week we have three events for you to note and one great big celebration:

1. Picture Day! Tomorrow, October 1. Envelopes were sent home last week. Didn't get one? Call the school at 465-6800 and our office staff can assist.

2. PTSO Meeting! Tuesday, October 2. We meet from 6 - 7 pm in the school library. Our meetings are inviting and fun with many laughs and lots of planning for our events! Please consider attending one...we think you'll love it.

3. BATTLE OF THE BELL!!! One day, your Shiloh Eagle will be a Mt. Spokane High School Wildcat! Each year, the Wildcat football team takes on the Mead Panthers for the Battle of the Bell. The winner takes home the prized trophy...the original school bell from Mead Union High School, our grandfather school.  Here are the details (see pdf flier below):

  • FREE dinner at the tailgate party, 5 pm, Joe Albi Stadium. See map below.
  • Kickoff 7 pm!
  • $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and seniors. You can buy your tickets at the gate, or at any Mead school, or at greaterspokaneleague.org.

And now for a big CELEBRATION...

Every year, our 3rd-6th graders' performance on the Smarter Balanced Assessment is compared against schools that have a demographic similar to ours. Again in the spring of last year, our Shiloh Eagles shone like the stars they are.

  • Shiloh performed better in English and Language Arts than 89% of the schools in our state with a similar demographic.
  • Shiloh performed better in Mathematics than 92% of the schools in our state with a similar demographic.
  • Shiloh performed better in Science than 100% (yes..100%!) of the schools in our state with a similar demographic.

Please join us in giving a great big shout out to our kids and to their teachers for the amazing work they do each day!

That's it for now, families! Thanks for reading!
