Eagle Updates February 19 - 22

Greetings, Shiloh Families!
Thank you for attending conferences last week, even in the challenging winter weather. Good news...that's the last trek you'll have to make to Camp Shiloh for parent/teacher conferences! Next year we'll be "back at the ranch"--home again! And speaking of that, our school remodel is coming along beautifully. Even though it is only February, we are already starting to talk logistics for moving back and starting school in September. We think everyone will love what's in store!
SchoolMessenger is not working for us this morning, so until we are able to figure out what is going on, please spread the word for families to check here for our Eagle Updates.
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs. Duchow and Mr. Edwards
Presidents Day
On Monday, February 18 we have no school due to Presidents Day. We will be back at the books February 19!

PTSO Dr. Seuss Books and BINGO Night!

"Books and BINGO" Night is coming!! On March 1 from 6 - 8 pm here at Camp Shiloh PTSO will host its annual BINGO Night!! There are some amazing gift baskets to be raffled as well as a sure-to-please Seahawks quilt. A change from years past will be that this year's BINGO game prizes will be books...books, books, and more books! Do you know about "Summer Slide"? This is the statistically proven amount of regression that children who do not read in the summer show when they return to school in September. Did you know that 6 is a magic number when it comes to preventing the dreaded "Summer Slide"??? Reading just 6 books over the summer (even over and over again!) can prevent the Summer Slide! Come to BINGO to start stocking up!

Parent Perception Survey

Thank you to the many families who filled out our survey. In our School Improvement Plan, we have a goal that by the end of this school year, 90% or more of surveyed stakeholders will express positive or high levels of satisfaction about multiple indicators of school climate (safety, communication, student/staff/parent relationships, educational program). To this end, we conducted a survey of families. Didn't get a chance to take the survey? Click here. It is very brief--just 8 multiple choice questions and 2 open-ended optional questions.

What do we do with this information?

Staff members will get to view the responses and celebrate areas of strength, while looking for solutions and strategies to address our challenges. We will be very open and transparent about our results with you, our parent community, as well.

DATE CHANGE: First and Second Grade Concert

Please note that the original date set for this concert was March 6, but we have had to make a change to this date due to a couple of logistical conflicts. Not to worry! It will be rescheduled! Stay tuned for more information!
